Graduation Prep Days will help prepare prospective December 2023, May 2024, and August 2024 graduates with requirements for commencement, and the bar exam for JD/LLM graduates.

All graduates will check in at Station 1 first and receive further instruction. Listed below are all the requirements for this first step in the commencement preparation process.

Law School Lobby

Station 1

• Check-in and Information Table
• Receive a Graduation Prep Day ‘To Do’ Checklist
• Complete Bar Prep Survey if you have not already completed it.
• Receive a ticket to order your regalia.
• Receive a ticket to get your photo taken.

Station 2

• Learn about the free JD Advising Supplemental Bar Preparation Program for Wayne Law Graduates
• Enjoy pizza for lunch, compliments of JD Advising and the Office of Career and Professional Development!

Damon J. Keith Center

Station 3

• DJK Center Lobby
• Jewell Photo will be taking headshots of all graduates onsite for professional use, by appointment. Photo packages can be purchased by the graduate through Jewell Photo.
• JD graduates must be photographed by Jewell Photo to appear in the 2024 class composite photo. Wayne Law will cover the cost of getting your headshot photo taken for this purpose, as well as cover the cost of an 8 x 10 printed copy of the 2024 class composite. Additional photo packages can be purchased by the graduate through Jewell Photo. 
• Professional attire required.
• Schedule your headshot photo to reserve your spot. 
• View the order form for package options, complete it and bring it with you to your photo appointment. Copies of the form are also located in the Student Affairs Office. Jewell Photo will have copies on Graduate Prep Day too.

Station 4

• A1 Fingerprinting
  • DJK Conference Room #1244 (Note: from 11 am to 5 p.m.)
  • Fingerprints are required for the bar exam.
  • Prior to: Complete this Background Check Request form ahead of time and bring it with you, along with $65 cash for the fingerprint service (no checks or credit cards accepted).

Station 5

• Barnes & Noble
  • DJK Conference Room #1243
  • Order your regalia (cap and gown) by credit card or cash (no checks accepted)
  • Cost is approximately $263 + tax 
  • You will keep the regalia that you purchase.

DEAL Conference Room

Station 6

• Record your name for Commencement reading (phonetic spelling and audio)
  • DEAL Conference Room #1247
  • This step is to ensure your name is pronounced correctly as you walk across the stage to get your diploma.

Station 7

• Notary services are for bar exam documents.
  • Notary Public available on Graduation Prep Days:
