Biography
Monika holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Communications from the University of Michigan – Dearborn. After earning her undergraduate degree, she gained valuable experience in public relations and played an integral role in establishing an autism center in the Ozarks. She later pursued her legal education at Thomas M. Cooley Law School. While earning her Juris Doctor, Monika externed for former Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice Marilyn Kelly and served on the law review. Additionally, she worked as a skills-based tutor and research clerk at an estate planning law firm.
After being admitted to the State Bar of Michigan, Monika practiced privately for several years, specializing in no-fault law and healthcare subrogation. She also held roles at the Michigan Tax Tribunal and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.
Before joining Wayne Law, Monika worked as a pre-law advisor at an undergraduate institution, guiding students through the law school admissions process and helping them explore law as a career. She also served as an associate director at a law school, providing academic support and student services. In addition to these roles, Monika taught skills-based courses as an adjunct professor and contributed to the Pre-Law Education and Admission to Law School Section of the Association of American Law Schools.
