  • Biography

     Rebekah L. T. Sellers received her Bachelor’s of Arts in Philosophy Cum Laude with Honors from Central Michigan University. She received her Juris Doctorate from Wayne State University Law School and was a Board of Governor’s Scholarship Recipient. While in law school, she was a 3L Intern with the Honorable Gerald R. Rosen, federal district court judge for the Eastern District of Michigan while he was sitting by appointment on the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals. She was also a 1st Place Team Brief Writer on Moot Court, and on the Board of Directors with the Free Legal Aid Clinic.

    Professor Sellers is currently a Domestic Relations referee in the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit Court Family Division in Macomb County. Prior to this, she was a Domestic Relations Referee Contractor with the Third Judicial Circuit Court Family Division in Wayne County, and a Judicial Research Attorney in both the Third and Sixteenth Judicial Circuit Courts. Outside of her roles in government, Professor Sellers has worked for legal aid, two mid-sized Metro Detroit law firms and ran her own general practice firm for nearly ten years.

    Before joining Wayne State University Law School as adjunct faculty, Professor Sellers taught business law at Northwood University. Professor Sellers currently serves on the editorial board for the Referee Association of Michigan Quarterly publication and the State Bar of Michigan Judicial Ethics Committee.
