  • Biography

    Min Jian Huang is the Clinical Programs Staff Attorney within Wayne Law’s Clinical Education Program. As Clinical Programs Staff Attorney, Huang supports the work of Wayne Law’s Asylum & Immigration Law Clinic and Business & Community Law Clinic both in and outside the classroom. Prior to returning to Wayne Law, Huang worked as a staff attorney at the Southfield litigation office of Lakeshore Legal Aid, a not-for-profit law firm providing a range of free civil legal services to people who are low income, seniors, and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Huang also began teaching at Wayne Law as a part-time faculty member beginning 2020, teaching courses including the Public Service Externship Colloquium and Nonprofit Leadership for Lawyers.

    After graduating law school, Huang worked as Clinical Programs Coordinator for the Clinical Education Program, and later Clinical Programs Manager, supporting the Program’s operation and its live-client clinics. Huang worked as Interim Director of Externships at Wayne Law before leaving to pursue full-time law practice at Lakeshore Legal Aid in 2017. His work has focused on public benefits, family law, estate planning, and landlord-tenant/real property law. Since returning to Wayne Law in his new role, Huang’s work focuses on humanitarian immigration law and transactional business law with emphasis on social entrepreneurship.

    Huang earned his J.D., from Wayne State University Law School, where he was an active participant in the Clinical Education Program and a participant of the Student Trial Advocacy Program. He earned his bachelor’s in Political Science and Biology, magna cum laude, from Emory & Henry College, in Emory, Virginia.
