  • Biography

     DAVID WM. RUSKIN, Ph.B., J.D., received his law degree from the Wayne State University School of Law in 1976, and was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan and the Federal Bar in the same year. In 1982, he was appointed Chapter 13 Standing Trustee for the United States Bankruptcy Court, Eastern District of Michigan, (Metropolitan Detroit). During this time he has administered in excess of 250,000 cases yielding over $1,000,000,000 in claims dividends.

    A long-time member of the National Association of Chapter 13 Trustees, he was honored to be its President in 1993. Mr. Ruskin is also a founding member of the Consumer Bankruptcy Association. He is also an original member of the Advisory Committee to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and sits on its subcommittees for Local Rules and Mediation. Mr. Ruskin maintains memberships in the State Bar of Michigan, the Consumer Bankruptcy Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute.

    He lectures on the topic of bankruptcy to both lay and professional groups, and also serves as an adjunct professor at the Wayne State University School of Law.
