Wayne Law names new assistant deans

DETROIT – Wayne State University Law School has named Lisa L. Fadler the Assistant Dean for Career and Professional Development, and Brandi Welch the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs.

Dean Lisa L. Fadler

Dean Fadler previously served as the Assistant Dean of Career and Professional Development at Cooley Law School, where she supervised multi-campus career services offices in Michigan and in Florida. She also taught Professional Responsibility and Evidence as a Visiting Professor of Law.

Dean Fadler has over a decade of experience as a practicing attorney, specializing in liability and malpractice defense in metro Detroit and St. Louis.

Dean Welch brings with her almost fourteen years of experience in the Student Affairs Office at the University of Texas School of Law, where she served as the Interim Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, the Director of Student Services, the Director of Academic Advising and Student Affairs, and a Career Counselor.

Prior to her work at the University of Texas School of Law, Dean Welch was a Corporate Associate with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati and Vinson & Elkins. She also served on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Law Student Affairs Professionals and worked as a volunteer attorney with American Gateways and Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas.
