Wayne Law Concludes Winter 2024 In-House Finals
DETROIT — The Wayne Law Mock Trial Team concluded its 2024 Winter In-House Final Competition on April 13, 2024. Nicole Mitchell and Alessandra Gill represented the Plaintiff, while Emma Whitney and Taylor Van Deer represented the defense, emerging as the victorious team.
The Honorable Judge Kwamé Rowe from the Oakland County Circuit Court presided over the final trial, accompanied by his court clerk, Rita Raban.
The semester-long competition began on February 17, 2024, with all junior Mock Trial members participating in the first trial of the semester. Each team had two trials, serving alternately as prosecution and defense. Advancement to the final round was determined by the scoring of these initial two trials, held at the 36th District Court and the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center.
The Winter 2024 semester competition focused on a civil case involving a wrongful death lawsuit against a college fraternity.
Prominent Wayne Law alumni and local Detroit area attorneys served as judges for the Winter 2024 in-house competition. Throughout the semester, witnesses and jury members included junior Mock Trial members, Wayne Law students, family, and friends.
This semester showcased talent, growth, and dedication among the junior members. Congratulations to all for completing a successful year on the Wayne Law Mock Trial team.
