  • Biography

    Brandi Welch joined Wayne Law in 2022 as the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs. In this role, Dean Welch supports students throughout their law school journey and beyond, through academic and personal counseling, student-centered programming, wellness and professionalism initiatives, and the promotion of a welcoming and inclusive law school community.

    Dean Welch served on the inaugural Board of Directors of the National Association of Law Student Affairs Professionals (NALSAP), and subsequently co-chaired the 2021 national conference. Her work with NALSAP has included collaboration with law student affairs professionals around the country to help serve the needs of law students nationwide. She has presented at the NALSAP conference on issues of wellness and ethics.

    Dean Welch graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA in History in 1998. After teaching high school speech and debate, she attended the University of Texas School of Law, graduating in 2005. After graduation, Dean Welch began her legal career at a corporate associate at Vinson & Elkins in New York City, before moving to Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati in Austin, Texas. Dean Welch joined the University of Texas School of Law in 2008, serving as the Director of Academic Advising and Student Affairs. While serving Texas Law students, she earned an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Policy in 2018 from the University of Texas. Dean Welch has participated in pro bono projects throughout her legal career, including family law and immigration work.
