Biography

Phil Mariani is a law clerk to Justice Bridget M. McCormack of the Michigan Supreme Court. Prior to joining Justice McCormack’s chambers in 2013, he clerked for the Honorable Anthony J. Scirica, then-Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit; the Honorable Michael M. Baylson of U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania; and Magistrate Judge David R. Grand of U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. He also worked as an associate at Hangley Aronchick Segal Pudlin & Schiller in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, litigating a variety of civil matters. Mariani received a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he served as the editor-in-chief of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review, and a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University.
