Wayne Law establishes Joel Morse Endowed Scholarship

DETROIT – Wayne State University Law School is pleased to announce the establishment of the Joel Morse Endowed Scholarship, made possible by a gift from Michael J. Morse.

The fund will provide scholarships to students in their second or third year at Wayne Law. Candidates who meet the following criteria may be considered for the scholarship.

  • Graduates of Historically Black Colleges and Universities
  • Graduates of Wayne State University
  • Attendees of high school (public, charter or private*) in Detroit

“‘To whom much is given, much is required’ was a core value that my dad, Joel, lived daily as he fought to help people in his law practice and make a difference in his community,” said Michael J. Morse.

The Wayne Law Scholarship Committee will select recipients of the award in accordance with Wayne State University’s policies and procedures.

*Must have resided for at least three years in Detroit during high school
