Angelo A. Paparelli

Angelo A. Paparelli, a partner in the 900+ attorney international law firm Seyfarth Shaw LLP, practices immigration law in Los Angeles and New York. He focuses on business and employment-based immigration, the immigration consequences of mergers and acquisitions and the E-2 and EB-5 Immigrant Investment visa categories. Admitted to practice law in Michigan, California and New York, Paparelli founded and served as president of the Alliance of Business Immigration Lawyers, a worldwide alliance of leading immigration lawyers. He has been rated three times as the World’s Leading Immigration Lawyer by the International Who’s Who of Corporate Lawyers and a “Star” by Chambers and Partners in several annual rankings, and is a California-Certified Immigration and Nationality Law Specialist.

Paparelli is a recipient of the American Immigration Lawyers Association’s prestigious Edith Lowenstein Award, and blogs on our dysfunctional immigration system at He also served as chair or co-chair of the American Bar Association, Immigration and Nationality Law Committee, Section of International Law and Practice (1991-96), and a member of the State Bar of California Committee on Professional Responsibility and Conduct (1986).

An expert witness in immigration law and a prolific writer, Paparelli is published in numerous legal publications and is frequently quoted in respected national publications regarding a wide array of immigration topics. He also has co-authored the Immigration Chapter of the International Practitioner’s Deskbook Series: International Lawyers Deskbook 2nd Edition (American Bar Association, Section of International Law and Practice). At Wayne Law, Paparelli was awarded the Judge John Murphy Writing Prize for his paper on the transnational breadth of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. Paparelli earned his J.D. from Wayne Law in 1976.
