Lauren Rennert, '15, has won the $1,000 third prize in the 2015 Founding Fathers Religious Liberty Student Writing Competition. Her piece, "Get While the Getting is Good: An Analysis of Civil Remedies as a Solution to the Agunah," is about the resolution of Jewish law and constitutional law in regard to a get (a Jewish divorce). Rennert works in patent litigation at Brooks Kushman.

Meagan Jabbori, '14, of JD Advising mentored students and provided essay feedback as part of a Michigan bar exam course that boasted a 100% passage rate for the February 2016 Michigan bar exam. As part of The Heidemann Law Firm, she also helped to write nearly half of the passing appeals in Michigan for the February 2016 bar exam. For the July 2015 Michigan bar exam administration, the firm wrote more passing bar exam appeals than any law firm in the state. Jabbori earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan.

Andreas Seidel, '13, an international attorney affiliated with Butzel Long for the past four years, is now an associate based in the firm's Detroit office. Seidel is responsible for consulting with U.S. companies entering the German/European market and German/European companies entering the North American market. He also assists clients in the retention of German citizenship. Seidel is a licensed attorney in Germany, which allows him to represent clients within the European Union.
