April 14, 2010Aaron Silvenis
will be working as a summer research fellow at the American Antitrust Institute under Albert Foer (president, former counsel to the FTC) and James Hurwitz (adviser, former counsel to the FTC) starting in May. As a fellow, he will help facilitate and conduct an in-depth report of the competitive effects on the entertainment industry following the merger of Ticketmaster and Live Nation. He will also obtain assistance on a working paper that will examine the findings, which will subsequently be submitted to the Federal Trade Commission and used as a resource for future analysis of vertical mergers within the entertainment industry.
Before he attended Wayne Law, Silvenis worked in the music industry for five years for a number of indie labels, including Island/Def Jam. He served as the principal college and lifestyles marketing representative for the states of Michigan, Ohio and Indiana.
In addition to his role at the American Antitrust Institute this summer, Silvenis will continue his ongoing clerkship under J. Douglas Peters at Charfoos and Christensen in Detroit.
