Sports and Entertainment Law Society (SELS)

Wayne Law's Sports and Entertainment Law Society (SELS) serves students who are interested in sports and entertainment law related fields - which includes a variety of interests, such as intellectual property issues, communications law, athlete representation, and entertainment contracts and disputes. SELS works to establish networking opportunities and career insights for these students, by hosting networking workshops and social events in cooperation with the State Bar of Michigan's Art, Communications, Entertainment and Sports section. We feel that sports and entertainment law is a unique niche in the Michigan bar, and we hope to make sure that Wayne Law students have the greatest advantage in meeting the leaders of this exciting group of legal professionals. SELS is also committed to giving back to the community of Detroit via its many unique sports clubs and opportunities for inner-city youth, such as the Detroit Dragons youth hockey league. And, of course, we love to have fun and meet other students interested in sports and entertainment law. Be sure to check out this site for future events, including Tigers game outings, networking nights at local bars, and volunteering at a local hockey game.
