An Evening at the Ballpark with Wayne Law a success
PHOTO RELEASE – An Evening at the Ballpark with Wayne Law took place on Aug. 3, 2010, with 225 attendees, including 140 attorneys from more than 60 Michigan law firms, and 65 Wayne Law rising second- and third-year law students. The event, hosted by the Wayne Law Career Services Office, was designed to kick-off the fall recruitment season and introduce Wayne Law students to the legal community. Students and attorneys mixed and mingled throughout the Detroit Tigers baseball game.
Highlights of the event included Max Winsten, son of I.W. Winsten, '79, throwing out the first pitch on behalf of the attorneys of Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP. On the field during pre-game festivities, Max and I.W. were joined by Wayne Law Dean Robert M. Ackerman and C. David Bargamian, '90, of Barris, Sott, Denn and Driker PLLC. An Evening at the Ballpark was sponsored by the law firms of Barris, Sott, Denn and Driker PLLC; Seyburn, Kahn, Ginn, Bess and Serlin PC; Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP; Varnum LLP; Potestivo and Associates; Dykema Gossett PLLC; and The Baskin Law Firm PC.
"[This event] was one of the finest such events we have had the privilege of attending," said Jordon S. Bolton of Clark Hill. "The balance of faculty, administration, members of the bench and bar, and students was fantastic. The organization and structure were perfect. And we all had a great time. We hope and expect that the students who attended took as much from the evening as we did."
