Wayne Law Welcomes Fall 2009 Entering Class

DETROIT (Aug. 25, 2009) – Wayne State University Law School is pleased to welcome its Fall 2009 entering class to campus. Orientation for first-year Wayne Law students begins today at the Law School.
“On behalf of Wayne Law, I’d like to congratulate and welcome the Fall 2009 entering class,” said Wayne Law Dean Robert M. Ackerman. “I am already impressed with our incoming students’ qualifications and experience, and look forward to meeting each of them over the next few years as they begin their professional lives.”
The Fall 2009 entering class is comprised of 186 students, boasting a median LSAT score of 156 and a median GPA of 3.52. Its class members represent 15 states (Arizona, California, Washington, D.C., Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington) and nine countries (Albania, Brazil, Canada, China, Ghana, Iraq, Pakistan, South Korea and the United States). They attended more than 50 colleges and universities to obtain their undergraduate degrees, including institutions such as Boston College, Central Michigan University, Georgetown University, Harvard University, Michigan State University, New York University, Stanford University, University of Michigan, Wayne State University and Western Michigan University.
“One of the most exciting events at the Law School is welcoming each new incoming class,” said Wayne Law Assistant Dean of Admissions Ericka Matthews Jackson. “This year is no exception. I look forward to watching these students grow and learn while making their mark on Wayne Law, the city of Detroit and the nation.”
