August 12, 2009

DETROIT (Aug. 12, 2009) – Wayne State University Law School is pleased to announce an alumni reception that will take place from 5:30 – 8 p.m. on Sept. 10, 2009, in Traverse City, Mich. Wayne Law alumni, colleagues and friends are invited to join Wayne Law Dean Robert M. Ackerman at The Park Place Hotel for hors d’oeuvres, cocktails and conversation.

“Wayne Law has a strong presence in Northern Michigan,” Dean Ackerman said. “Many of our alumni are employed by area firms, have established their own practices, work in academia or with the government, or are employed with area corporations. This alumni reception will provide a wonderful opportunity for our alumni and friends in Northern Michigan to reconnect with each other and with the Law School.”

Additionally, Wayne Law Distinguished Professor Robert Sedler will attend the event and provide a brief presentation on recent decisions made by the U.S. Supreme Court.

The Park Place Hotel is located at 300 East State Street in Traverse City, Mich. RSVP for the event by Sept. 4, 2009 to www.specialevents.wayne.edu/traversecity or to Tammy Bynum, secretary of Development and Alumni Relations, at (313) 577-3113.
