Internships

Photo of student talking with lawyerWayne Law's LL.M. program in U.S. law emphasizes developing practical skills and essential knowledge that allow students to put their education to use immediately after graduation. Students work alongside U.S.-trained lawyers in multinational corporations, multinational law firms and international organizations. Students also help to advise non-U.S. clients with U.S. investments strategy and relationship building abroad.

We encourage students in the U.S. law program to undertake internship experiences as part of their education. These internships may be taken for course credit and cover a wide range of substantive areas of law. We offer placements in metro Detroit law firms, government agencies, major corporations, non-governmental organizations and courts.

"The legal profession in the U.S. is unlike any other in the world. It is therefore vital for foreign-trained lawyers to become acquainted with the practice of U.S. law. The internship program at Wayne Law offered me a practical, real-world opportunity to work with the county corporate counsel in Detroit. My experiences at work were monitored and dissected on a weekly basis by an actual practitioner in an academic setting. Wayne Law's unique educational approach provided me with invaluable training experience on the 'Do's & Don'ts' in the practice of law, laying the foundation upon which my daily professional life continues to rely."
