Alumnus appointed Wayne Law associate director of recruitment
DETROIT -- Joshua R. Davis, a 2013 Wayne State University Law School alumnus, has been appointed associate director of recruitment at Wayne Law.
He will be responsible for recruiting students for the law school, assisting in development of recruitment strategies to attract qualified law students, and representing the law school at national, regional and local recruitment events.
Davis of Royal Oak began his new role Monday, Aug. 19, the first day of orientation for new law students.
“Josh Davis is a welcome addition to the Wayne Law Admissions team,” said Wayne Law Assistant Dean for Admissions Ericka Matthews-Jackson. “His experience as a student assistant, student ambassador and assistant admissions coordinator will be invaluable in his new role in the office. Josh is dynamic, smart and creative. He has wonderful ideas, and, as a recent graduate, he is well equipped to create programs that will attract the best and the brightest leaders and advocates to attend Wayne Law.”
Davis earned his bachelor of arts degree in political science from the University of Michigan. Prior to attending law school, he worked in Washington, D.C., as a program instructor for the Close Up Foundation, a nonprofit education program that provides a “close up” view of government and democracy in action.
As a student at Wayne Law, Davis was a clinical student attorney in the Transnational Environmental Law Clinic; senior managing editor of Michigan International Lawyer, a State Bar of Michigan publication; and president of the International Law Student Association.
