Wayne Law Review Symposium - "Sentencing White Collar Defendants: How Much Is Enough?"
October 24 2014 at 8:00 AM
Wayne State University Law School
The Wayne Law Review Symposium will look in depth at the issue of how much punishment is enough for a white collar criminal. Do long prison terms serve the typical goals of criminal punishment: rehabilitation, retribution and deterrence? How should a court weigh the appropriate sentence for a defendant who poses little continuing threat to society yet committed a crime that can have far-reaching consequences? The symposium will bring together federal judges, academic experts in white collar crime, and prosecutors, defense lawyers and a former white collar criminal to look at these questions from all sides. The Wayne Law Review Symposium is made possible through the support of the Cohn Family Endowed Fund. Please register for this free event. Complete details
