Assistant Professor of Law Noah Hall was quoted in an Oct. 25 article in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel titled "Great Lakes aid isn't a cure-all: Despite $475 million restoration plan, damage continues in freshwater system." The federal government's restoration plan does little or nothing to stop the pollution of the Great Lakes, Hall maintained. "This (plan) was not meant to be a list of new regulatory actions or legal requirements that should be imposed on local governments and industry to protect the Great Lakes from further harm," he said.

Professor of Law Peter Henning commented on former Advanced Micro Devices Inc. Chief Executive Officer Hector Ruiz, who was implicated in the Galleon Group insider trading scandal but never charged, in an Oct. 30 Bloomberg.com news. Henning expressed surprised that the SEC wasn't pursuing a case against Ruiz.

Professor of Law Peter Henning was quoted in an Oct. 29 story in the Detroit News about allegations that former Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick deliberately failed to disclose financial information. Commenting on Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy's claims, Henning said, "She is going to need evidence of a fast shuffle; that money is being moved around."

Distinguished Professor of Law Robert Sedler was a main source in a story in the Detroit Free Press about the U.S. Supreme Court agreeing to hear an appeal by the State of Michigan seeking to reinstate the murder conviction of a black man tried by an all-white jury in Grand Rapids. Sedler said the case would likely turn more on the issue of state court rights than on the facts of the defendant's case.
