- Professor of Law John Mogk was consulted for an editorial in a Nov. 1 Detroit Free Press editorial titled "Saving the most salvageable neighborhoods: Detroit must address blight in its healthiest neighborhoods first." The editorial advised Detroiters and their leaders to plan now for a much smaller city. Mogk commented: "The city's master plan has always been out of touch with reality. The 2010 census will bring shock and awe."

- Distinguished Professor of Law Robert Sedler was quoted in a Nov. 2 article by the Associated Press on the Detroit city council election. Sedler commented on the effect that candidate Charles Pugh's recent financial problems would have on his chances to get elected. "I would put that in the same category as personal things that do not interfere with one's official duties," Sedler said. "They're not stealing money."

- Professor of Law Peter Henning was quoted in an Oct. 30 FT.com article about Bernie Madoff's accountant, David Friehling, pleading guilty to fraud charges. "He was duped by Madoff ... but he had the obligation not to be duped," said Henning.
