Jocelyn Benson was the keynote speaker at an event to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The event, "MLK: The Fight Against Hate Crimes," took place in East Lansing.

Jocelyn Benson spoke at the Interfaith Center for Racial Justice's annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Celebration of Macomb County. Her topics included race relations, the history of the Voting Rights Act, and mass incarceration of people of color.
