Professor of Law Stephen Calkins recently taught at the Fordham Competition Law Institute Refresher Course for Experienced Agency Staff and Judges in New York on July 8, 2008.

Associate Professor of Law Anthony Dillof was interviewed on W-JR radio regarding the legal ramifications of a recently passed Michigan law requiring that paroled aggravated stalkers wear global position monitoring devices.

Assistant Professor of Law Lance Gable participated in the Turkish Pharmaceutical Law conference in Kayseri, Turkey on May 8-9, 2008 and presented on "Clinical Trials in the United States: What Role for Criminal Law?"

He presented on "Closing Borders during Public Health Emergencies" at the UCLA Conference on Public Health and Disasters on May 19, 2008.

He made two presentations at the Law and Society Association's Annual Meeting in Montreal, Canada on May 29, 2008: "Ethics, Human Rights and Mental Disability" and "Human More or Less? Human Rights, Transformative Technologies, and Human Bodies".

He participated in a panel round table at the annual American Society of Law, Medicine and Ethics Health Law Professors Conference on "Protecting Populations at Risk" on June 6, 2008.

He served as a grant peer reviewer for the Centers for Disease Control, Coordinating Office for Terrorism Preparedness and Emergency Response.

He attended "Confronting the Ethics of Pandemic Influenza Planning: The 2008 Summit of the States" as a member of the state of Michigan delegation.

Assistant Professor of Law Noah Hall was quoted in the LA Times and Forbes for a story on the ethics of a deal between the Sierra Club and Clorox. See his Great Lakes Law blog post at http://www.greatlakeslaw.org/blog/.

Professor of Law Michael McIntyre had a 20-minute appearance on New York City radio as a guest of Errol Lewis's WWRL Morning Show. He spoke about the tax scandal involving the Swiss banking giant, UBS, and the recent report on offshore banking fraud by a Senate committee chaired by Senator Carl Levin on July 21, 2008.

Legal Writing Instructor Amy Neville spoke at the 13th Biennial Conference of the Legal Writing Institute on July 15, 2008. More than 600 legal writing professors attended the 2008 LWI Conference in Indianapolis. Her presentation, "Anatomy of an Appellate Brief Problem," addressed the process of designing pedagogically sound appellate brief assignments.
