"I'm specializing in criminal law, because I feel it is a great way to make an impact on the community and bring justice to the lives of citizens."

Undergraduate degree? When/where? Albion College, 2005

Why did you choose Wayne Law? Good school and love for Detroit.

Expected year of graduation from Wayne Law? May 2009

What student organizations/co-curriculars are you involved in? I'm the President of the Hispanic Law Student Association, member of the Hispanic Bar Association of Michigan, treasurer of the Free Legal Aid Clinic, Intern for the Wayne County Prosecutors Office, Student Associate for LexisNexis, Treasurer of the Public Interest Law Student Association and previously worked as a law clerk for the Elder Law and Advocacy Center.

How has your involvement in student organizations impact your law school experience? It has given me an idea of the legal needs of the community and provided me with a glimpse of what it takes to be a successful attorney.

What are you most proud of thus far in law school? The ability to use what I have learned in law school and apply it to the court room. And not only that, but to apply it correctly - a true testament to Wayne State.

Has there been a professor who has really impacted your journey into law? Professor Jocelyn Benson has impacted me through her passion for justice. Also, her laundry list of accomplishments at such a young age is truly inspiring.

Do you feel well prepared for a career in law? Absolutely, but I understand that the end of law school does not mean an end to my legal education.

What advice would you give to folks considering Wayne Law as their law school? Law school is a lot about habits. Work on establishing good habits before you start and you will be better for it.
