March 25, 2010

PHOTO RELEASE - The Winter 2010 Student Trial Advocacy Program (Mock Trial) in-house competition was held on March 11 in the Spencer Partrich Auditorium. The final round featured Sade Griffin and Katie Grace representing the Plaintiff as they battled for the championship title against Laura Kubit and Samantha Orvis, who represented the Defendant. The Honorable James Plakas from the 35th District Court presided.

Congratulations to winners Laura Kubit and Samantha Orvis!

The Student Trial Advocacy Program was founded in 1985 to train law students in trial courtroom advocacy. In a simulated courtroom setting, a student and a partner present one civil and one criminal trial over the course of the fall and winter semesters. This student-run program is open to upperclass students.

Congratulations again to the event winners and all participants!
