Congratulations to STAP winners!
On November 20, 2006, Law School students Tisha Simmons and Eric Novetsky won the Fall 2006 Donald E. Barris Trial Competition, the final round of competition in the Student Trial Advocacy Program (STAP). As the winners, Simmons and Novetsky received a $500 scholarship and will move on to compete with the STAP National Team.
Simmons and Novetsky argued against the team of Justin Cohen and Kim Vollman in a kidnapping and felony murder case. The final round judge was The Honorable Jeanne Stempien of the Wayne County Third Circuit Court.
