In Memoriam: Christopher G. Rush
DETROIT (Aug. 15, 2007) – It is with great sadness that Wayne State University Law School announces the death of one of its graduates, Christopher G. Rush, Class of 2005.
Rush died on August 12, 2007. He was born on September 5, 1976.
Rush, who was severely disabled from Muscular Dystrophy, was widely known at Wayne State University Law School and was well-liked and admired by his peers and professors for his unwavering determination, courage and strength.
Formerly of Rochester Hills, he earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan in 1999 and his J.D. from Wayne State University Law School in 2005. In addition, he was the 1983-1984 National Poster Child for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
He is survived by his parents, Richard and Dorie, his sister, Julie, and his grandmother, Vivian Taylor.
Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 14 from 5-9 p.m. and Wednesday, Aug. 15 from 1-9 p.m. at Vermeulen Funeral Home, located at 46401 W. Ann Arbor (between Sheldon and Beck) in Plymouth. The body will lie in state Thursday 9 a.m. until a 10 a.m. funeral service at First United Methodist Church, located at 120 S. State Street, (south of E Huron, east of Main Street) in Ann Arbor.
